Unusual Things Found in New England Part 1
Note* this location is no longer available because the gentleman sold his house and the new owner took down the bowling balls… 🙁
This series will be about the rather unusual things that Lisa and I have found in our back road travels in Vermont. You may ask, “What constitutes an unusual thing?”. This is simple, anything that makes you hit the brakes, spin the car around, and say to yourself, OMG!!!
Bowling Ball Pyramid
The location of this bowling ball pyramid is very close to Diette Rd and Route 58 in Lowell Vermont. This is just east of Hazen’s Notch which is a very nice route for the fall colors. From what I’ve read on this unusual Vermont find, Kevin Dumas started building the pyramid as his bowling alley had to retire old, used bowling balls.
Today there are over 400 bowling balls in the pile and I’ve heard that there are sub pyramids starting. Also maybe you have an idea of what Kevin should do with all the bowling pins he has amassed?
Most things that I pass by, I mull over whether to stop. But if I really have to stop, get out (usually) to photograph it, and sometimes it has nothing to do with the fall colors. I think it will be something others will find interesting. I have to decide if it will be something others will want to go find, and all of this mulling over takes a bit of time.
But when I found this bowling ball pyramid, it didn’t take more than a second to mull it over and I pulled over and turned around. I mean it could have been a lunar lander… but I’m getting ahead of myself. That is for a future article…
Here is a link to my part 2 of unusual things found in New England. A link to part 3 will follow and the link will be here.
In my next article, we will discuss cows jumping over the moon. Did it happen??? and what proof do we have? How about photo proof? Stay tuned and maybe click the subscribe button above!
