This article contains what I think are the top 10 things to do in New England. From September to November there are thousands of things to do. Of course the top number one thing is Leaf Peeping! So here are 10 more things that I have either done or read about. If you feel I left your favorite out. Let me know.
Here is my Top 10 list of things to do during your foliage trip in New England.
(But I bet you could name a few more…)
- Gondola ride to the top of a mountain (you pick the mountain as almost all will have gondola rides) Note to self, I’ve only done a couple.
- Picking your own apples.
- Finding ALL the pumpkin people in Jackson NH
- Ride the cog rail to the top of Mt. Washington and stand at the highest point in New England. (or drive it in your car!)
- See cranberry bogs being harvested in or around Carver Massachusetts.
- Warm cider donut/s on a cool crisp morning looking off the porch of your B&B. Don’t tell me you haven’t picked lodging yet???
- Visit one of the North East Kingdom towns holding their fall foliage festival http://jeff-foliage.com/fall-festivals/nek-fall-festival/ from late Sept to early Oct.
- A Hot air balloon ride over the fall foliage.. (www.high5ballooning.com, https://www.balloonvermont.com, many others)
- Zipline down a mountain? Head up on the gondola and down on the zipline?
- Visit a Pumpkin Festival, From Pumpkin Chunkin in Stowe Vermont, Or over in Laconia New Hampshire, you have the Laconia NH Pumpkin Festival.
How is that for starters?
