Unusual Things Found in New England Part 3
The hardest thing about finding unusual things during my New England trips is the time it takes to decide if I want to stop or not. Usually, I have to mull it over and decide if it will be something that you will find interesting amusing, and by the time that happens, it may be a mile back in the rear view mirror.
Generally, if it doesn’t grab me immediately, yank the wheel out of my hands, and make me slide into the ditch to stop and photograph it, it gets forgotten.
Being that this image was captured in 2019, it was the 50th anniversary of the moon landing this year which may be why I found so many lunar themed displays.
Artistic Creativity for a Lunar Landing in Jackson NH
Pumpkin people make a moon landing in Jackson New Hampshire. The Pumpkin People are a yearly event and each October you will spot them all around the town of Jackson NH. But You can find them almost anywhere.
This Pumpkin Spaceman with his lunar lander was found out on Route 16 heading South towards Conway NH. Some years they are not much more than a pumpkin with a face painted on it and a shirt and trousers. Here the resort either hired an artist or had a very creative person on staff. Either way, we were rewarded with a wonderful display of creativity.
