Fall is in the air, how about a Ferry Ride and a Fort?

New England Fall Foliage Posted on August 26, 2023 by Jeff FoliageNovember 6, 2024

There is a certain feeling as the days grow shorter and those of us who live in New England wake to cooler mornings. I start to think maybe I should put on a fleece shirt, and when I go to … Continue reading →

Finding Bash Bish Falls, is it MA or NY?

New England Fall Foliage Posted on February 22, 2022 by Jeff FoliageJuly 1, 2023

If you have been here before, don’t start laughing at our naivety in exploring the falls. If you are old, like me, then do not go to the upper entrance on the Massachusetts side. The falls are quite literally on … Continue reading →

What is a good foliage route from New York to Vermont? This is my foliage route response from a letter in my mailbag. One of your fellow leaf peepers sent me a question. Gayla sent an e-mail asking for a good foliage route … Continue reading →

 Testimonial
Hello, Just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you for your help in planning our New England trip this weekend!

We arrived Wednesday night and I’m currently in the airport about to fly back home to NC. Based on your recommendations, we decided to stay in southern New England- we flew into Providence, drove to Old Sturbridge Village, spent some time in the quiet corner of CT and drove down 169 to Mystic.

We spent yesterday and today in Newport. Everything about this trip was beautiful and wonderful! I have no idea if the foliage is “peak” for the area but for us it was just perfect. The trees were beautiful shades of orange, yellow, red, and some green.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate the help you gave us- we never would’ve known to visit these areas if you hadn’t suggested them in one of your posts and we are had the most wonderful trip! Thanks! Meredith Spangler
