Timing the perfect New England leaf-peeping trip is all about being in the right place at the right time. Use this page as your virtual scouting tool. Start with the Northern New Hampshire and Maine cameras in late September to watch the ‘first blush’ of color. As October progresses, move your focus to Central Vermont and the Berkshires, ending with the Coastal Massachusetts feeds for that beautiful late-season crimson glow. Each camera below includes a tip on the best time of day to view it, helping you see the colors in their best light.

Experience the coastal charm of the Vineyard. While the island turns later than the mainland, the oak trees and marshes provide a beautiful, subtle rust-colored palette well into November.

A favorite for railfans and foliage lovers alike. Located in the foothills of the Berkshires, this camera captures the rugged transition of colors along the active CSX line.

Westfield is in central Massachusetts in the Pioneer Valley. Conveniently located near Routes 5 and I-91.

Mount Washington Observation Deck

Live streaming of the eastern side of the Presidential Range. Visit the Mount Washington page and donate!

High above the treeline, this camera offers a bird’s-eye view of the Presidential Range. While there are no trees at this altitude, it’s the best way to see the ‘carpet of color’ in the valleys below during early October.

Witness some of the worst weather from the highest point in New England. Also, this is reputed to be the location of the worst weather in the world… Enjoy!

Mount Washington Cog Rail Station (Marshfield Station)

Watch the historic Cog Railway climb the steep slopes of Mount Washington. This area features a mix of hardwoods and evergreens, providing a long-lasting display of color as the foliage creeps down the mountain from late September through mid-October.

Attitash Mountain, Bartlett, NH

Located right on Route 302, this view captures the heart of the White Mountains. It’s a perfect spot to monitor the color progress in the Crawford Notch area, one of New Hampshire’s most iconic foliage drives.

Sitting on Route 302 in Bartlett, NH, the Attitash ski area can look nice in the morning or afternoon, depending on the sun’s angle.

Widely considered one of the most photographed views in New England. Use this live feed to catch the reflection of Mount Chocorua in the water, framed by the brilliant reds of the maples that line the lakeshore.

Good in the early morning and, depending on the time of year, 3-4 pm for a little late afternoon sun

Sugarloaf Ski Area, Carrabassett Valley, Maine

Get a high-altitude look at Maine’s Western Mountains. The golf course views are particularly helpful for photographers, as the open fairways provide a clear look at the birch and beech trees turning bright yellow against the mountain backdrop.

Track the foliage at the very top of the Northeast Kingdom. Since this area borders Canada, it is often one of the first spots in Vermont to hit peak color, usually by the first week of October.
