Timing the perfect New England leaf-peeping trip is all about being in the right place at the right time. Use this page as your virtual scouting tool. Start with the Northern New Hampshire and Maine cameras in late September to watch the ‘first blush’ of color. As October progresses, move your focus to Central Vermont and the Berkshires, ending with the Coastal Massachusetts feeds for that beautiful late-season crimson glow. Each camera below includes a tip on the best time of day to view it, helping you see the colors in their best light.

Mount Washington Observation Deck
Live streaming of the eastern side of the Presidential Range. Visit the Mount Washington page and donate!
High above the treeline, this camera offers a bird’s-eye view of the Presidential Range. While there are no trees at this altitude, it’s the best way to see the ‘carpet of color’ in the valleys below during early October.
Witness some of the worst weather from the highest point in New England. Also, this is reputed to be the location of the worst weather in the world… Enjoy!

Mount Washington Cog Rail Station (Marshfield Station)
Watch the historic Cog Railway climb the steep slopes of Mount Washington. This area features a mix of hardwoods and evergreens, providing a long-lasting display of color as the foliage creeps down the mountain from late September through mid-October.

Attitash Mountain, Bartlett, NH
Located right on Route 302, this view captures the heart of the White Mountains. It’s a perfect spot to monitor the color progress in the Crawford Notch area, one of New Hampshire’s most iconic foliage drives.
Sitting on Route 302 in Bartlett, NH, the Attitash ski area can look nice in the morning or afternoon, depending on the sun’s angle.

Sugarloaf Ski Area, Carrabassett Valley, Maine
Get a high-altitude look at Maine’s Western Mountains. The golf course views are particularly helpful for photographers, as the open fairways provide a clear look at the birch and beech trees turning bright yellow against the mountain backdrop.
