New England Fall Foliage Posted on October 19, 2020 by Jeff FoliageJune 27, 2023

Well, it’s about THAT time, The term “Peak” is thrown about when folks are asking where to find IT and more often it’s used in the past tense of “where did you find IT” or “that was one of the … Continue reading →

Norumbega Getaway in Camden Maine

New England Fall Foliage avatarPosted on September 27, 2019 by Jeff FoliageJune 20, 2024 1

The Norumbega is good either in mid-October or any time of the year as Lisa and I can attest to. Lisa and I went up to Camden, Maine and stayed at Norumbega Castle.  It’s not a castle in the real sense of … Continue reading →

Madame Sherri, Adding a Little Local Color

New England Fall Foliage Posted on February 27, 2018 by Jeff FoliageMay 30, 2023

Far off in the woods of New Hampshire is the ruins of a grand, little “castle.” Part of what is now a conservation forest was once the summer getaway of an eclectic character, Antoinette Sherri, a costume designer for the … Continue reading →

New England Castles- Maine

New England Fall Foliage Posted on March 10, 2015 by Jeff FoliageMay 22, 2024

“A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!” ~Shakespeare, King Richard III What is the value of a kingdom?  Some American ‘lords’ thought the value high enough to build their own ‘kingdom.’ Since beginning this series, I have had some … Continue reading →

 Testimonial
Hello, Just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you for your help in planning our New England trip this weekend!

We arrived Wednesday night and I’m currently in the airport about to fly back home to NC. Based on your recommendations, we decided to stay in southern New England- we flew into Providence, drove to Old Sturbridge Village, spent some time in the quiet corner of CT and drove down 169 to Mystic.

We spent yesterday and today in Newport. Everything about this trip was beautiful and wonderful! I have no idea if the foliage is “peak” for the area but for us it was just perfect. The trees were beautiful shades of orange, yellow, red, and some green.

I just wanted to say that I appreciate the help you gave us- we never would’ve known to visit these areas if you hadn’t suggested them in one of your posts and we are had the most wonderful trip! Thanks! Meredith Spangler
